Our Partner, Sotos Kasinos, participated yesterday as a speaker in a presentation and discussion in Larnaca on the New Civil Procedure Rules.
The event was organized by the Bar Associations of Larnaca and Famagusta and featured the presentation of the newly published book “New Civil Procedures”, a collective work by more than 35 colleagues, including our partners Sotos Kasinos and George Charalambous, as well as presentations on several sections of the new rules.
The presentations were followed by a lively and constructive discussion, focusing on the practical challenges already faced by practitioners.
The ultimate purpose of any procedural regime should be to provide certainty and consistency, so that procedures across different courts and judges are conducted coherently, ensuring (as far as possible) efficiency and fairness. These constructive discussions are essential to achieving this, both by deepening our understanding and by providing a platform to identify weaknesses and potential solutions.
